Sushi 2219

The place which I ever go for sushi...which I brave to admit that I've been such a loyal customer to them since 5 years back...Another reason is also they had never dissapoints me yet...fresh ingredient, good food quality, good services is some of the reasons that keeps me coming back...

Some snapshots from their menu...This is the same one that they have been using since the first time I come, which is 5 years back...but of course, the price have been slightly increased then...

Just to let you know that all the sushi here are hand made thus even you are the only customer there...you still need to wait for a while as there is only 2 people working there which is the husband and wife... (warning: this is not the place for those without patience)

Let's drink some green tea while waiting for the food...

Pickled papaya...to stimulate your tastebud...

Salmon sashimi...thickly sliced...

Baby octopus...

Our first platter of assorted sushi: California Handroll, Unagi, Inari, Tamago, Ebikko, Kani Mayo, Kani Kama, Chuka Kurage...all my favourite...Did you notice the super generous filling they give, it's almost splitting out from the sushi...another reason to love them even more...

Soft Shell Crab Maki, Ebi Tenpura Maki and Kani Maki...The soft shell crab and ebi was still hot when I bite it...This shows how efficient are they...straight to the plate once it's cooked...and after that straight to my mouth...hahaha

Soba...A must to be ordered everytime I come... you can also choose for Udon but I prefer for Soba...this is really nice, it's kinda looks like a simple bowl of noodle soaked in the pipping hot clear soup served with seaweed and spring onion...you can also sprinkle in some chili powder if you prefer it to be spicy...

Ebi Tenpura, served together with the Soba....

Really satisfied with the meal...Something more to tell bout this place...There is only 6 table there, so place were really limited...If you want to go, make sure early. As I mentioned earlier, even I'm first there I still need to wait at least half hour.(Can you imagine when you are sitting on the 6th table and the other 5 have not even started to eat?Don't worry, Lady boss will sure gonna tell you that you need to wait at least 1++ hour or worse, no more rice)..and it's strictly not for those who can't wait, or too hungry...

Previously they started from 11.30am and I don't really know that since when it has changed from 1.30pm til 9.00pm, sometimes you can even expect them to sold out at 7++ pm especially on Sunday as Monday is their off day...

Kedai Makanan Yut Kee

Decided to blog about Yut Kee, the place whereby I usually have my breakfast before go to work..Another reason is also this is quite a special place to hunt for food in the morning. Want to know why? Just continue reading and you'll know. This place where usually full as always thus to take picture I've been really sacrified this few days. Why? Of course to wake up earlier...Have reached there even they sky haven't turn bright...

Too early, I guess...
Kelvin say why don't we just go in from the back door? Huh, can or not?Later they take the broom and chase us out...haha

And because of this, I'm able to take picture...Once the shop opened the door, all those people started to streaming in...withing minutes the shop were full...that you might end up sharing the table with someone else...

They don't have a specified menu, but if you want to know what the food they served here, just refer to this big board..

Lets move on to the food...
Coffee to start the day, be it hot or cold...

Toasted bread whereby you can have it steam as well...served with butter and homemade kaya which they sells separately too...

Half boiled kampung egg...What we usually have for morning breakfast...

What I mean so special just now is, beside the bread and egg...where else you can actually have fried noodles, steak and even dessert in the early morning?

Beef Noodle, you can opt dry or soup or serve with rice too...Slighty different with the one from Peel Road and Seremban, as they have their own style but I still likes it...This bowl is really big and I have choose for Lai Fun, there were generous serving of beef meat and radish as well which is really tender...really nice...

Pork Chop...hahaha, you know what I mean now? Have tried before for their Chicken Chop, Fish Chop and also Beef Steak... this time decide to try for Pork Chop which is just as nice...FYI, this is actually Hainanese style whereby the potatoes is cut into wedges and the brownish sauce is served with mixed vege and tomatoes...It's kinda reminds me of my grandfather Hainanese's Chicken chop...really misses it alot..

Fried Hailam Mee...

The famous roti babi which is sort of like big french toast which has filling...inside it's shredded pork, chinese sausages, sliced onions and lotsa lotsa crab meat....You gotta really try this when you go Yut Kee...

And still not enough, you can have this for dessert as well...hahaha
Butter cake o Kaya roll...

Isn't it a great breakfast experience at Yut Kee here?

Inakatei

Well, inital plan is to go Sushi 2219, but when we reach there, we were told that it was sold out. What? It's only 7++ pm. It can be understandable actually as it's their off day the next day. So I guess they just doesn't want to keep the food.

As we are still craving for sushi and doesn't wanted to anywhere far, I suggest we just settled down at Sushi King..so there we go to Lesuire Mall..you wouldn't believe it when I say its full as well and when we put our name into the waiting list, we are number 9th...OMG!!! I thought the economy was bad...I thought I heard that everyone is cutting down on their expenses esp on food/entertainment?

Opss, maybe I was wrong..haha. Frankly speaking, I'm not that kind of person which will wait that long.. So here we go again, the 3rd time we changed our dinner location...This time is at a Japanese Restaurant "Inakatei" at Lesuire Mall too..

This is actually my first time here...This place have around here for quite a long time but each I passes by this restaurant and take a look at the price of their menu, I'll forget it...It's no difference this time...But since we are all already sitting down, we have no choice but to order...hope it's worth the money I pay...

Outside the restaurant, there is alot of miniature of Japanese food being displayed...

Looks so real, huh...nice to see but too bad..it's meant to be consumed, hahaha...

Their menu...

Green Tea @ RM1.50 each and it's fyi refillable...

Nigiri Sushi Set @ RM30...for this price you can get about 10 pieces of sushi...there have Salmon, Tuna, Ebi, Tamago, Unagi, Ebikko and Egg Mayo...and also one miso soup which is included...

Ramen and Gyoza Set RM20, you can get some pickled vege, 4 pieces of Gyoza which is quite nice...the meat was tender and not too hard..which was seasoned just to the right taste...As for the ramen, it was actually quite a big bowl wherby inside there are half boiled egg, seaweed and lots of chicken chunks...and the 2 pieces of watermelon...

And as for me, I have ordered Futomaki and Soba Set @ RM22...Instead of pickled vege, I have some tofu with carrots and potato, 4 pieces of sushi which so small, I though Futomaki are supposed to be giant sushi whereby you can't even stuff in your mouth with one bite? As for the soba..there was one prawn, crab stick and some fish cakes in it...

That's all of my experience at Inakatei Japanese Restaurant...I guess I should tried their bento set instead of this noodle set as I found that I'm having more like Chinese food instead of Japanese food..haha...but averange for one bento is about RM40++ (which I think not worth)
Total bill included tax is RM82.50

If you are interested to try too, here goes the address...

A day @ Malacca

Went to Malacca last week with my family. It's actually a unplanned trip as we have actually decided to go only last minute. But it's ok as it's really been a long long time since we go there.

Sis says she will bring us to eat one of the famous Chicken Rice Shop at Jonker Street. Heard from my mom that she used to go Mallaca quite often with her boyfriend, so I think I can trust her on this. Well, we have reached the shop quite late which is almost lunch hour. And yes, this is the shop whereby we are going to have for lunch, Kedai Kopi Chung Wah...

From outside, it's just look like a normal ordinary shop selling chicken rice..But hey, did you see the crowd queueing there? OMG!! Sis, this shop is really famous for the chicken rice or long queue??

Sis boyfriend managed to get a place after 15 minutes, I think...Luckily we don't really need to wait long for our turn. After eating, most the people will left for the next people to eat. Anway this place don't really looks like a suitable place for you to chatting...

Tang! Tang! Chicken Rice Balls...I don' really know whether you can get this elsewhere beside Mallaca, but since this is what Mallaca famous for, of course we have to go for it, rite?

Err..when the chicken comes, me and my mom was like...do they have another shapper knife? Haha...Anyway, we were really too hungry to care about this anymore...Eat, eat, eat...This shop actually only have Chicken and Rice Ball, nothing else...Don't expect to have Char Siew or Roast Pork here...Eventhough it's limited choice, its still doesn't stop the people coming here...which explains to the long queue..

Total bills come at RM70++, whether it's worth it or not, you'll be the judge.

While my sis boyfriend was waiting for the queue just now, me and my mom have actully went to "San Shu Gong" which is just right opposite the Chicken Rice Shop...This is actually the place whereby you can find for Mallaca traditional snacks and titbits...with a very very nice packaging...I still remeber my first time having it which is brought by one of my Mallaca friend..and since then I'm in love with it...

Mandy who can control herself have get herself a big plastic filled lots of Mallaca titbits and snacks...I would consider it's not really expensive as I have bought quite a lot but it's only cost me about RM40++...but I can't pay by credit card as they only accept payment above RM60...

After curing our hunger...we decided to hang around there. And since it's a weekend, you can really expect for a lots of event here, example Kite Flying Competition...

And this is the Revolving tower is located at Bandar Hilir, beside Dataran Pahlawan Megamall. This 110m high revolving tower was built using Swiss technology at a total cost of RM23mil. It is the first of its kind in the country with a revolving observation cabin, which provides a breathtaking 360-degree view of the entire historical areas in Melaka city. The air-conditioned revolving viewing cabin is equipped with 80 seats. It revolves as it rises from ground level to the top of the tower. Each viewing session would last 7 minutes. Fares for locals are RM 10 for adult and RM 5 for children....

Yea, I have talked so much but in fact I din't really go for it, haha. And the far end there, if you can see, it's actually the Eye On Malaysia...I already experience it during they have it at Titiwangsa so don't really keen to go for another round of it...

After done with exploring around all these old building, we decided to head back to Jonker street to have cendol before go back to Seremban...

Along the street, there were really lots of beautiful things for you to see...Beautiful coloured thongs...wonder anyone will buy this??

Cute cute magnet...

Cute cute lil clips...

Finally, we reached the place for cendol...this place were brought by one of my Mallaca friend during my school time..Lucky I still can recognise it as it's still not much difference with the last time I've been here which is I think 6 or 7 years ago.. wohoho...

Inside the shop...really oldie feel whereby you can find lots of antique displaying around, be it on the floor or those pics hanging on the wall...wondering it's the table and chairs we are sitting is also an antique which is older than me??

The long awaited cendol, trust me...this is really really nice. The next time you go to Mallaca, make sure you try this...you can't get this elsewhere...

Din't have the chance to go to the weekend night market, din't have change to eat satay celup also...Arghh, don't mentioned it...too much things to do...but we just have too lil time...
Will make sure I will come back for more...hehe

Once reached home, me and my sis whose can't wait patiently anymore have already take out the scissors to open all the snacks we have bought in Sam Shu Gong just now...

On the left: Melon Seed biscuits
On the right: Taro Cream Cracker with Coriander Leaf

Lo Poh biscuit...

Green Tea cake with Walnut

Kuih Koci, Green Tea and Black Glutinous Flavor...

Some of the things we bought from Jonker Street...
