How's ur Christmas? Hope you had a good one. As for me, hubby had booked a nice Japanese restaurant for dinner that day. Nihon Kai at Old Klang Road were highly recommended and promoted by his friends. Which is why he brought me there since he know I like Japanese food so much...

When we there, its was fully booked. Pheww, luckily hubby make a reservation earlier.

We ordered alot of food as we so tempting to try as much of food they have here.

Shake Sashimi RM21 for 5 thick slices of salmon...very nice!

Itako & Kurage RM6 were so so, abit dry or it should be really dry?

I gotta tell you that Japanese Salad is actually very nice. Really like this Shake Sashimi Salad RM15 which come in a very big bowl...

They do serve a wide selection of lunch and dinner set whereby dinner will be slighty more expensive by a few dollar.

If you plan to visit this place, make sure you make reservation. And now we have one more great option for Japanese food...

First, it was the home made meal by my aunts... chicken chop, fish chop, beef steak, pasta, salad, mashed potato, alot of greens and also mushroom soup...ahh, the feeling were so warm

Then, it was sister turn tapao all type of dim dum you can imagine... I love it but I'm abit scared of dim sum now...

Next, mom birthday dinner at Wing Heong...
Dragon boat, heard this is their award winning dish during a competition recently. Four type of different dish served on a boat, it's a very huge serving...

Next, we have a half serving of Pun Choy. Eventhough it was only a half serving, but we really got full with it. Imagine if it a full serving. Pun Choy may looks tricky as there is another layer of food beneath it.

A fish cooked two way, spicy and non-spicy. Of course, the fish slice were the favourite among us. Really full and the only thing I can do now is munching the carrot and celery stick...

The lovely home made cheese cake by aunt...we all laughed when aunt says the mint leave were pick from the garden...

Was browsing thru the new food guide book and this place somehow catch my attention. As described in the book, this small thai food stall run by a thais which served affordable thai food. This place is not difficult to find actually. It's inside Jackson Restaurant which is a corner shop, somewhere very nearby to the 17th district night market.

Not to worry as the thai can speak cantonese and the colourful pictures make it even easier for you to make order.

One of their signature dish - Kerabu Ikan Bilis, RM6. I found the ikan bilis tasted sweet, perhaps they add sugar while frying it. The portion were quite big and there's alot of bird chilies, which we can't managed to finish it.

They have 2 type of tom yum here, the white and the red at RM10. I believe the one we usually have is called red tom yum. I order the white one which I thought it will be the milky type, turn out its clear soup tom yum, hahaha... Well, it's actually taste not much different with the normal type and there's lots of prawns and mushroom inside.

Long bean with prawns rice RM5 was quite spicy too. And there's alot prawns in it...

One of the none spicy food - Fried rice with salted fish and kailan RM5. Huge serving...

Well, I can say this place does not served the best thai food, yet its still acceptable for me and most, I think. But this place definetely a place where you can have an affordable thai meal. This whole meal only cost RM26, which I don't think you can get elsewhere.

Stomach were full, but no the eye. Saw a yau tiu stall outside and bought this ham chim peng with yam filling RM1. My first time trying ham chim peng with filling inside. Not bad, managed to finish it within 1 minute, hahaha mom says its better to eat while it's still hot.

Suddenly I feel so old because my youngest sister with the age gap of 10 years has finally received her first pay check. And now its her turn to treat me.

Well, she has suggested to have dim sum at Wing Heong which is very nearby to our house. Wing Heong which is just a few minutes drive from Seremban 2nd toll exit has been exist for quite awhile in our small hometown. Usually where people held their wedding dinner and with business expanding, it's no surprise seeing them serves dim sum as well.

A quiet dim sum lunch on weekday...with my favourite jasmine tea, heong pin

Recommended xiu long bao, sip the mouthful of hot piping soup first before eating the meat...

Fried prawn roll with equally balanced of pork meat and wholed prawn...

Salad prawn were not recommended, abit too dry. But the siew mai and seaweed roll is not bad...

The star of the meal - scallop roll which priced at RM10 each, worth every single cent you pay for it. The fried bacon wrapping the fish meat and scallop with pepperish mayonise is really delicious. Sister, can you treat me this again next month?

They serve paos and lo mah kai as well which we skipped. Average dim sum per plate is RM3++. Worth for a try...

Hope it's not too late...This year I'm buying the mooncake last minute. Had wanted to try this mooncake from Taiwan but everytime miss it.

Very pretty isn't? There were a few packages to choose. I have choose the smallest package - Moonlight Mooncake RM53. Consist of Agar Konjac Jelly - Green Plum and Sakura flavor.

Bangkok again (part 4)

It's really a happening place at Chatuchak. When you are tired of the shopping, you may choose to rest while enjoying a drink at any of the nice cafe there...

First time eating a warm doughnut which on stick, not bad and it's only cost 13 baht...I had the green tea

One of the stall selling Som Tum, which a spicy salad made from shredded unripened papaya. You can have it with fried chicken, shrimp, squid, beef or even pork... A little spicy and sourish

Hubby can't take his eyes off when passing this stall displaying BIG prawns... The owner are so good, telling us that our tom yum and fried rice will cost 600 baht before placing our order to kitchen...she's being honest anyway as she's afraid we might complain later...

Our tom yum was the milky style which I quite like. The big prawns definetely make the soup alot sweeter and tastier...

Our fried rice with BIG prawns served on BIG plate, hahaha...taste normal but I like they present the food, like so grand!

Our dessert, very delicious homemade coconut ice cream...

Dinner were at Shabu Shi which we spotted after we went to Erawan for some prayers...Shabu Shi by OISHI is a Shabu-shabu and Sushi buffet served Kaiten style...

Just pay 282 baht and you can have 1 hour and 15 minits to eat anything which is on the kaiten belt...not bad huh

Salmon sashimi is a side order where you just need to pay 49 baht for 5 slices of thick salmon...

Tate cafe at airport is the cafe where we have a cup of coffee and a slice of cake before returing back to KL.

That come to the end of my Bangkok post. And you know what I'm already missing Bangkok and hopefully I can go again next year.

If your hotel is near to BTS like me, you can actually purchase a BTS One-Day Pass. Just pay 120 baht for unlimited ride. Most of the tourist destination and shopping are actually very nearby to BTS.

My second day are mostly spend at Chatuchak Weekend market which is just a 5-minute walk from the Mo Chit station. Well known as the largest market in Bangkok which sells almost anything that you can think of are a heaven for shoppers...

It's really a hot day, I couldn't resist to buy this cute hand fan. I think it is 20 baht...

Enough with the shopping, next post will be on food, food and FOOD....

Bangkok again (part 2)

Took a quick bath and hop on a taxi to Chinatown...
Pheww, lucky that I managed to find this food stall, miss the tom yum & garlic siew yok...

It rains heavily once we finish up our meal...
All stall were covered so no shopping...
Pass by this cosy coffee shop...

It's so raining and so cold...but I still go for the iced coffee...

The cakes looks delicious too...I couldn't resist to order 2 slices

Bangkok again (part 1)

Thanks to Air Asia I'm at Bangkok for the 2nd time this year.
Seems like Bangkok have recovered fully, which can be seen from their massive traffic jam...

Due to the heavy rain, we have been stuck at Chinatown for more than 1 hour...before 1 kind hearted tuk tuk willing to send us to the nearest BTS

Things went no so smoothly at first... Taxi driver doesn't know how to go to our hotel. All this because I don't Sukhumvit is that BIG! Learn a big lesson that day.

Finally gotcha before we wanted to give up...

Soong Kee Beef Noodle & Low Yau Kee Porridge

Soong Kee located at the corner of Jalan Silang is one of the highly recommended place in KL where you can find a bowl of satisfying beef noodle. Whenever I have a chance to be nearby this place, I'll sure pay it a visit.

The usual standard bowl of their minced pork noodle...

Also a bowl of mixed beef soup to accompanied the noodle... and the result is a satisfied stomach

Not to forget the famous Low Yau Kee Porridge which has been relocated to the space in front of Soong Kee. I thought they have stop selling porridge. Glad that Joveen had brought me here...

I just miss their super silky porridge...Raw fish slice, always my favourite. Just dunk it to the hot porridge and it will cooked instantly...

What else? You like smooth steamed chicken? Trust me, you'll just can't get enough of this...

The first glimpse at this high class restaurant located at the highest floor at SOGO might make you think that the food is very expensive. But there was one thing that attracts us to come in. Want to know what is that? It's the Wise Spender set meal which cost RM10.80 only for a main dish plus a drink. Okie, it may sounds too good to be true but it's actually because this start from 2.30 pm right after you finish your lunch hour, hahaha...

Quite a wide variety for you to choose, from noodle to rice. I think there were about 20 choices. We had the Claypot Chicken Fillet with Dry chili and also Smoked Duck with Assorted mushroom. Both served together with fried rice and a mini salad. The food is so flavorful, just like those taste you get from the high class chinese restaurant.

Add RM1 for the dessert. And the dessert for the day is Sago Honey Dew. I am now all satisfied. What else can you ask for? Service is good. Since it's located inside SOGO, I believe this is an pork free restaurant.

I'm a person that really like to enjoy especially when it come to food and kawai stuff. Totally a spendthrift person. Have told myself alot of time to save money and not to spend money unnecessarily. It's sound so simple yet I still can't do it. Which mean I need a job to continue this kind of lifestlye. And finding a job which you like is really difficult. At the same time, I wanted to rest a while before stepping back to the working world. Can I?

Asking me stop spending money is just as difficult as asking a smoker to quit smoking. Get it? It's just like when I thought wanna to save abit so this year we go to Love Bakery to order Jo's birhthday cake. The cake were only about RM30++ plus but eventually I spend RM20++ more when I saw those irrestable cookies, bread and chocolate cake...

At this moment, I really wish that I can strike the jackpot, but the problem is I didn't buy it, hahaha....

The kids are pretty excited today. It's all because we will bring them to the zoo. All the while they just see those animals in tv or magazine and now they get to see it in real...Well, I'm excited too since the last time I've been here were probably 2 decade ago.

We arrived early...so we get a near to entrance parking, so we no need to queue long for ticket and also there's less crowd

So what you called this? A poney? or a donkey? I'm just so poor at recognizing them...

It was Ivy last day so we thought want to treat her for a nice dinner, another way to express our thanks for her guidance thru these 2 years here... Time flies and its time for her to go back to Shanghai...gonna miss all those Shanghai mini snacks from her...

It's really sort of funny that we end up bringing her to a restaurant in Pudu which serves authentic China food. Restoran Kar Long looks like a typical China restaurant. All the diners here speaking in a very heavy China accent, and so does the waitress...

Here, I have the best dumpling I ever had. Price at 70 cent each, its not considered pricey at all. There were a few type of filling to choose. We had the spring onion and mushroom.

And the rest of the dishes we had tonight were all cooked with abundance of dried chili. I'm not sure which province of China serving this kind of food, Szechuan maybe? Whatever... Strangely it's not that spicy as how it's looks like, just that we think its kinda salty...

Nope, even the japanese beancurd are not spared to cook together with the green chilies...

Jing Si Restaurant & Cafe which in Connaught looks very like a decent vegetarian hut to me. I often seeing it full house whenever I pass by. And the sudden urge to eat healthily had make me wanted to eat here...It was on Sunday noon when we there and surprisingly it empty with us being the only customer.

Looking at this luscious mutton curry rice, I starting to think is eating vegetarian really that healthy? Just put some imagination and this mock mutton can be as tasty as the real one...

Vegetarian sparerib which is actually made from mushroom root is another of my favourite vegetarian dish, yummy...

Ordered 8 pieces of stuffed tofu because it's written on their menu is yong tau foo. I thought I will be getting those stuffed brinjal, lady finger or bittergourd...End up it really yong tau foo, haha...really funny...

I love mushroom and really really like to eat mushroom so this is also one of favourite dish today. It was simply stir fried but the mushroom is really sweet...

Eating vegetarian once a while can be quite enjoyable...

Taiwan Crispy Fried Chicken

Not long ago, hubby brought me to a foodcourt nearby his office and from there I have discovered a stall selling those taiwanese style fried chicken. At first I thought it was just like those selling at night market. But the business were quite good actually which I decided to give it a try... I think it was a bit special, because it taste abit like KFC...

Popcorn chicken which taste even better than KFC...

Guess what is this? This is the thing which somehow got me addicted...It's actually fried tofu cube. Cute? Again, its taste just like KFC, wahahaha...

Noticed that even their fries are covered with some sort of KFC like powder?

Bad news is the next few weeks I was there, the stall were no longer there...Am now missing and craving for the fried tofu cube...Anyone have any idea where is the fried chicken stall in Restoran KFL in Batu 9 Cheras has moved to?Please let me know, ok?

Jaya One in PJ has become a very popular dining destination among most people nowadays. Few weeks ago, it was my first time at Jaya One after reading so much new restaurant resides there. I have lost my count on the restaurant they have here...There's really a variety type of food for you to choose from.

Actually on my mind, I already know which restaurant I wanted to go for tonight. Have been reading about this place One Chef at Jusco Pearl magazine that day. A place which serve mainly Chinese, Nyonya and Western food. Good thing that they are serving affordable set meal which include 3 side dishes and soup. Does this sound good to you?

You like coffee?For me I would rather says that I'll always enjoy a cup of coffee whenever there is a chance...If you enjoy coffee like how I do, you can have a try on this cafe located at the corner of Shaw Parade. I spotted this place the last time I were at Purple Cane for lunch, totally forgot bout it till I was looking for a place for coffee last week...

The place were not really big, there's only bout 3-4 tables I think...Or else, you can opt to sit at the bar which can accommodate bout 4-5 people. It can be quite relaxing sitting here enjoying a cup of coffee. With their wide selection of choices, I'm sure there must be one that suit you...

This is not a ordinary plain water. It's actually plain water + lemon

Since it's hot day, both of us had choose for Iced Coffee instead. Green Tea Coffee and Mint Coffee...

It's even better to enjoy the coffee with a slice of cake. We have choose the yam cake...taste really good

Was thinking how long has it been that I have wake up early to take a breath of the morning breeze. To be honest, I couldn't remember it. After barely less than 3 hours sleep last night, here I am climbing Broga hill with my colleague. Broga hill had become a very popular place nowadays. Really, you can see young kids, couple, teenager but I must say the uncles and the aunties are the most energetic one, they just seems to know every step here and they can walk very fast up to the hill...

First of all, thanks so much to Jessey to organize this wonderful dinner. If not, all of us won't be getting this chance to meetup with each other. Seeing them brought back alot of good memories when we are at HP.

el meson, espanol is at Jalan Telawi 3, just next to Madam Kwan. Interior were mostly in dark colour but was brightly lit with orange lights...A nice place to have a good dinner with a drink or two...

Started the night with a glass of Sangria, cheers!...

Frankly speaking I'm not sure how does the spanish food tasted like. But it should something like what we are ordering below, haha...

Starting off with some tapas:-

Whitebait. Crispy fried little fish served with Allioli. It's crunchy but tastes abit bland, luckily there's some sauce for dipping...

Boquerones Bacon. Spanish anchovies wrapped with Bacon. I like this. In fact, I like anything with ham or bacon. But RM16 for 3 tiny pieces is abit expensive ler...

Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms with chopped chorizo and beef, topped with melted cheese. If you like cheese and mushroom, you'll definetely going to like this.

For the main:-

Pan fried Halibut served with stewed bean, serrano ham and potato confit.

Pork Chop. Premium bone-on chops, pan roasted and served with Sauerkraut and Roast Potatoes. This looks so delicious and tempting, rite?

Pan fried Chicken Breast stuffed with Serrano and Cheese served with Potato Wedges and Vegetables. Don't look small at this one piece of meat and it can quite filling.

Penne Carbonara with Smoked Salmon and mushroom. Absolutely like the mushroom, smoked salmon and the cheese powder...yummy!

After all, it's been a while I've not been to Bangsar on a Saturday night. Really enjoyed it!

Bangkok ~ the final chapter

The sleep yesterday night were the most uncomfortable one. With the sound of gunshoots and explosion which cleary heard even on the 10th floor, I bet no one can sleep peacefully that night. Which also explains we getting our breakfast quite late today...The colourful palate of the breakfast seems to cheer us up abit. Today there were spaghetti and it was yummy...

Egg, egg and more egg...

After bath, we thought want to try our luck out there...There still taxis outside but on the road, its seems to be quieter and less people...Went to Patong again but the route seems to be longer than yesterday. All to be blame is on the road closure...Narayana is closed again. Seems that we won't get it this time...No more place that we can go now. We actually waited quite long for another taxi that suggest us to a shopping center which is abit from Bangkok - The Big C. Nothing much to buy there and at when it's close to lunch time, we went back to Chinatown...

Hua Seng Hong looks exactly like a typical chinese restaurant, very the chinese feel, hahaha...It's Michelle birthday today, just thought want to have something nice for her.

There's dim sum on the menu, we ordered the most common Har Gau and Siew Mai to try...Totally dissapointed, those back in KL roadside stall fare even better.

Mix vegetable with glass noodle, so so loh...

Steamed fish, failed. Fish not fresh and overcooked. I don't know to cook well but I still know the spring onion are to be put later. From the look of this, they definitely steamed the spring onion together with the fish...

I wonder why there are a few bean sprouts at this Or Jien?

But still I feel content now, cause I found one more collection for my Coca Cola at a roadside stall just now...That auntie quite reluctant to sold to me at first. Because it's actually a 2009 coca cola. Nice?

Full stomach, sleepy and on a hot day with no more place to go, back to hotel is the only choice...But there's no more taxi and when there is, none of them want to go to our hotel. After quite long there is one demanded 200 baht which we eventually give in since no more taxi want to go there...And only that time we know how serious is the situation now because the riot has now got into our hotel area...The road to our hotel is closed, so the taxi stopped us halfway and we need to walk for more than 1/2 hour. This is the most scary moment of my life and I can't remember how fast I have walk but that should be the fasted in my life. Passing those protester and army on the road. The rest of the day we just spend in the hotel. And the situation continue till night time.

Funny part is when the manager ask us whether we wanted to go to 7 Eleven which thought it's abit ridiculous but he assured us that it was safe. So we followed him to another street which is about 5 min walk from the back of the hotel...

Their 7 Eleven even sell birthday cake, really wanted to buy it for Michelle...

Bought some compact sandwhiches and dim sum for supper, hahaha...You must saying that I still got mood for supper, rite?

We couldn't really sleep well that night...Woke up quite early the next day since we are going back to KL. After breakfast, we straight away checked for taxi which demanded 1000 baht to airport, normally is only 400 baht the max...Flight were 3pm but we already leaving the hotel at 11am...Its should be safer in airport there...

With that it come to the end of my journey and thank god I arrived back to KL safely... I really wish I can go to Bangkok again and because of that, I couldn't resist to booked the Air Asia cheap ticket. RM175 for 3 day 2 night including hotel, cheap cheap cheap...

Bangkok 2nd day ~ Big breakfast, Floating Market and Chinatown

The one hour time zone can really make a big difference. At here, I didn't even bother to change it to local thai time, which make it a bit difficult when they ask me the time. With that, I also have my breakfast as early as 6am at local thai time. This is because when it's 6am in Bangkok, it's already 7am in KL. You wouldn't believe that the sky were already very bright that time...

Most of the people staying at this hotel are foreigners. I can say 90% of them is Ang Moh. Breakfast here were served western style as well with lots lots of variety, it's actually just too much for you to choose...

Most of the shopping centre has been closed down during this red shirt incident, so choices of place to go were limited. One of the place we can go is to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market at Ratchaburi which we thought might be one in a lifetime experience. But the taxi driver demanded 1500 baht for us to go there, and after some bargaining it was 1000 baht with condition we need to stop at Gem World.... This is going to be the most expensive taxi ride in my whole life. And when we reached there, we still need to pay extra 600 baht each for the ride...Pengsan jor!

At here, you are shopping on water. You can get all sort of souveniers for example like key chain, t-shirt and their handmade stuff but of course you need to do some bargaining. For me, I'm here to take some nice photos. There food sold by them were very tempting as well. We have tried on the mini coconut pancake and satay which taste very nice...

How they do their business...

We continue to another new journey to Chinatown after ending our Floating Market trip. You can see there's chinese writing at every corner of the shop here. There's lot of peoples, taxi and roadside stall on the street. It's just so lively and happening here...

Their life can be very simple. As simple as selling roasted tapioca for living...

You have eaten sashimi and you like it very much. How bout trying on some new interesting stuff like this raw crab and prawn? Actually until now, I'm still wondering is those stuff are to be eaten raw??

It's close to late lunch and our stomach are starting to make noise. With don't know what is nice to eat, we just try our luck on this stall...

Finally, I get my first bowl of tom yum at Bangkok here...with lots of prawns. Really satisfied...

Oh my God! I really like this dish. Crispy friend siew yok with lots of lots of garlic...Have ever eat siew yok this way before...

Overall, it's just some simple dishes but it's cooked with full of flavor and wok hei...

After the meal, we continue shopping around that area. And later on to Suam Lum and Pat Pong but most of the shops closed and we starting to feel uneasy and straight headed back to hotel. It was rather chaotic while we are on the way back. Out of the 5 lanes, 3 lanes were parked by taxi and tuk tuk and we can see lots of the red shirts protestor on the road.

Bangkok 1st day

The day before I rushing like mad to clear all my work and also settle all the family issue and packing my luggage last minute. And now here I am at LCCT ready to fly to Bangkok, to the land of smile. Was pretty excited actually to escape from work and go travel abroad with friends.

RM9 for this spaghetti, no choice if you are hungry and already in the flight...

In the flight, Michelle give us 1500 baht each to "chak toi"

After appoximately 2 hour flight, we have finally reached Bangkok. It was already late evening by the time we check out our luggage. The colour of the taxi here are different from ours in KL. There are all in bright colour like this one. I guess it's easier for the tourist to spot the taxi on the street. And it's all Toyota Vios...

First thing to do of course to check in to hotel. Michelle friend suggested Indra Regent to her which is very convinient and near to the shopping area. On the way from airport to hotel, we have passed thru the area where the red shirt protest which is very near to this hotel. But the hotel staff and taxi driver had assured us, the did not fight and ask us not to worried. At this moment, I think we can only trust their words...

More money to go shopping...I'm not greedy, just wish that if all these is in RM will be enough, haha...

After bath, we go loittering around the busy street hoping to get some nice tom yum. But eventually our mission failed as we are too hungry. Ended up with a roadside stall selling noddle.

The thais just like to add these extras in to their noodles. I could accept adding in those chilis and chili sauce but sugar? Looking around the people, I can see their whole bowl of noodle is red in colour...

For me, I rather stick back to the original one. 35 bath for a satisfying bowl of noodle before continue our journey...

The first night here were more on surveying the price rather than buying. As we still have 3 more days here. Furthermore we are pretty sure there are other place selling the same item with lower price...Tapau some nice snacks back to hotel for supper...

The stalls closed pretty early today bout 9pm plus. Usually they don't closed this early, I think. So we just went to 7 Eleven to stock up on some drinks and cup mee for emergency.

The most unforgetable oversea trip in my lifetime shall be this one which is in Bangkok 2010 during the red shirt incident. Everything that happened last few days were just like a dream. Gunshot and explosion everywhere, seeing hundreds or maybe thousands of people protesting on the street. I think I have never seeing so much police and army in my lifetime ever. And walking on an empty street of a street which used to be the busiest...

This street in front of my hotel in Pratunam is totally different from the first day I'm here...I remember this street is full of people, taxi, tuk tuk and roadside stalls

And now those shops are forced to closed down... Everyone are advice to stay inside. Even the Skytrain has stopped their service...

Hehehe...Looking at the last statement I'm pretty sure everyone can guess where I'm going these few days. Yea, will be going to Bangkok tomorrow. Ticket were already booked since last year during Air Asia zero fair promotion. Just that who knows and expect the protest might happened?which we called off our travel trip initially. Mana tau, Michelle call me on Monday night whether to carry on...she says the situation there were getting better.

So, just go and hope everything is fine and went on smoothly.

I could not help myself but to fall in loves with the cakes that Joveen brought to office that day...Straight away I ask her for the direction and make my way there...Anyway it's still in Cheras area. How come me myself a Cheras folk don't know about this Bakery? While she's from Sentul and her aunt from Balakong coming all the way here...With that, I don't think I need to say more...

Once stepped in, it's looks no difference with those normal bakery around the neighbourhood area...but the fact is you could not imagine there's so much to offer here...

Just now it's the bread...Now it's the cake, charcoal and soya cake... pretty interesting

We have ordered a few slices to try...All of them taste very light, less creamy and less sweet as well...which equal to guilt free and also more healthy eating...

Was eyeing for something cold and this mango pudding were the right choice...the bottom layer were the pudding while the upper layer were the trasparent jelly with peach slices, longan and also strawberry.

Yea, we go, we see, we eat and we also buy and tapao, hahaha... Don't forget to try their soya cake and also japanese chocolate cake.

Well, you'll definetely spoilt for choices here...what you see here is just a part of it. Tastewise is as what I have say - less sweet and light. Prices were considered reasonable as well...not overpricing but perhaps it's Cheras area. If this were at Hartamas or Bangsar area, I doubt you can get the same thing for the same price..

Anyway, I'm now so excited to go there again this weekend.(to try those I have not try)

Counting the days and found out that I have not catch up with Jessey for some time. It were either I'm been busy and also the other way. Finally got the chance to meet up on Friday...And as usual we'll find a nice place for dinner which is somewhere near PJ area...

While hunting for a nice place, we pass by Indulge and we got attracted to the decor...A sense of comfy and relaxing...It's Friday and after days of hardwork we need to indulge too.

Suddenly yellow have been my favourite colour...

Apple Cucumber Cooler taste refreshing at first but after sometimes its getting bitter...the effect of the cucumber, i think. Ice Lemon Tea shall always be the wise choice...

We had a soup of the day for sharing. Today they have the minestrone soup. Both of us like the soup. The tomato paste with lots of vegetable chunk in it...

Starter platter with smoked salmon & salad, fried soft shell crab, fried chicken wing with sweet sauce and also a bowl of vegetable stick...

The lamb lover had choose Duo of Lamb as her main. Lamb cook two way, lamb goulash and grilled lamb rack. The dish looks interesting and nicely presented. There were also some greens for you to balance back the meat intake...

As for me I have choose for something fishy Crispy Skin Salmon... Served together with vegetables and mashed potato. It's very a filling meal.

Youd wouldn't believe that we still have space for dessert...We have choose 2 dessert Creame Brulee and Crepes Suzzette. Was a little dissapointing with the dessert. It wasn't too bad, just so so only. I guess its because I always put high expectation for dessert.

After all, both of us enjoy the meal and wouldn't mind come back again for the interesting starter and main dish...I heard they have set lunch too...

It's weekend...The happiest day in the week to be enjoy. Nothing much happened this week, as usual spend times for the family and also children.

Spotted this in the SUN that day. I remember that I have read review bout this place last year. And this year, they have the buffet promo again. Have called them for reservation but it seems that its fully booked for this 2 weeks. Only managed to get a place for the next 3 weeks. Looking foward for it and hope it doesn't dissapoint me.

Supposed to be joining my coll to Melaka last weekend, but not able to make it. Still, there were souvenier for me. Thanks Joveen for this handmade key chain.

Hubby were outstation to Thailand and as usual he will get me my favourite Coca Cola can. With the world cup season, you can expect the current can with world cup theme.

Well, I must say I like Sushi Tei and it's now my favourite place for Japanese fast food. Unlike Sushi King or Sakae Sushi, there's is still only one branch in Malaysia despite having other branch in the world. Sushi Tei were originated from Singapore were located at the ground floor of Tropicana City Mall. And it's also because of Michelle, all of us get a chance to dinner here...

Sashimi salad highly recommended by Michelle. The vegetable were fresh and crunchy and a cup of salad sauce were given to be eaten together. The sauce were yellowish in colour, creamy and almost like the normal salad sauce just that I think it's much more lighter and less fattening. And with the generous chunk of tuna and salmon sashimi, I couldn't resist to steal a few bites from her plate...

This is beef roll with enoki mushroom. I like this too, because it's really yummy...The thin beef slices were wrapped with enoki mushroom and grilled with tepanyaki sauce.

Chicken Katsu the breaded fried chicken...

Curry chicken katsu don...Japanese curry tend to be not as spicy as our version, but it does smells very good. It's just like eating curry chicken minus the spiciness...

Overall, we had a very good dinner here and I can't wait to come back for the Sashimi salad.This will be on my top list when I got a chance to go there again.

Koryo Won @ KLCC

Koryo-won, located at the top floor of KLCC is a place which is famous for Korean cuisine. I remember I have been to the one at Jalan P Ramlee few years back. Back then there were not much people there. Perhaps it was already late tonite, not much people here as well...The other 2 table seems to be Koreans were enjoying their BBQ prepared by the staff...

Variety of banchans were served to us shortly after we have made our order. This mini appetizers usually served in Korean restaturant is also something which I like. Often it is something light and crunchy for example like vegetable. Tonight we have fish cake, bean sprout, lotus root, spinach, kimchi and also green chilies and anchovies.

Kimchi Chigae is some sort of a spicy vegetables and glass noodle stewed in kimchi broth. The soup were rather spicy and sourish. You can choose to have either Chicken or Beef.

While Doenjang Chigae is the only non-spicy dish which is vegetable, tofu and bean paste soup. Instead of chicken or beef, the staff there have recommended us to choose the seafood version so that the soup will tend to be sweeter.

No complaint of the food but the weather were really hot recently and after we had this meal, we feel even hotter. We have just choose the wrong timing for this hot pot stuff...Perhaps, when the weather have cool down, I'll go and try for the Korean BBQ.

Just ask anyone where is the place that serve nice BBQ Lamb and I'm sure the answer shall be Cao-Cao Lamb B-B-Q which is located at Kuchai Lama. Finding this place at first could be quite difficult as when I saw the address mentioned as Kuchai Lama, I instantly thought it was somewhere near to the Kuchai Lama Entrepreneur Park. But the fact is it's not anywhere near to it. And when we managed to find out the place, it's seems its more to Old Klang road side, which is further down from Restoran Talipon and next to Wisma FGA...

Once reached there, you can already smell the BBQ Lamb. And looking at them so busy, you can already guess how good is their business.

Without wasting much time we have made our order once seated down. Since it's late already as most of time were wasted to find this place...The BBQ Lamb arrive shortly after our order were made. Once bite you can taste the well marinated meat are tender and juicy enough as it's not overly cooked. You can even dip with the mint sauce or chili sauce if you like it to be spicy. Each piece start from RM8.

Have order some chicken wing, RM2.20 each to try since they are selling it too...But for me, it's just plain too normal. It's better just stick to the lamb, hehe...

There's actually more other stalls there selling hawker food like wantan mee, ha ha har mee, duck egg fried keoy teow, porridge, chee cheong fun, tong sui and even dai chow.

Dim sum @ Restoran Hong Kee

Previously known as Restoran BB has taken over by Restoran Hong Kee in January this year. But don't know why I got the feeling it's still the same owner...Perhaps Hong Kee sounds more omphh than BB. We decided to give it a try since it serve dim sum as well as what Restoran BB did previously.

Having our usual fare of dim sum like siew mai. Somehow I think its still look and taste the same as how Restoran BB did it...

Har gau which we cannot say no to... why? definetely because we cannot resist the tempation of the transculent skin wrapping the prawn.

This time we had a chance to try their roasted stuff where it were brought from table to table, just like how they do to the dim sum. Being a fan of siew yok, I have go for the siew yok wantan mee.

For dessert we have the chilled longan pudding. This really cooled us down on a super hot day like this.

Taste of the food is still similiar or so much near to previous one which I quite like. Price considered affordable as each basket of the dim sum averangly cost about RM3.

For most of us, porridge is usually consumed when we are not feeling well. As for me, I like to have it once a while. Most probably to clear the digestive system due to eating too much of good food esp those oily stuff...

But plain porridge can be too plain if you are eating it alone. And if you are eating it Teow Chew style, we will usually have something salty and flavourful to accompany with...

Fu yue(fermented beancurd) taste spicy yet salty and friend salted fish is something usually I'll have for my porridge...but this is my first having a slice of lime together with the salted fish.

Ham choy (salted vege) were so soft, as it'll melt in your mouth...

Since I'm with a carnivor today, I have order some meat for him...stewed duck.

Pork intensine, which is soft and crunchy...

Stewed pork, which is not too fat...just right

I'm not sure bout other place, but eating Teow Chew porridge in KL here is definetely not cheap...which I don't understand why. It just some low cost thing anyway. Yea, this is always the common phrase we do say each time we eat this...and we still eating it the next time. And that also explain why this place is still full with patron even it's near to closing time.

For me I only bout kuih lapis, the multi layer colourful nyonya kuih which I used to eat when I'm a small little kid... But what about kek lapis? Only discovered it when I'm on my Sarawak trip last year...Kek lapis were considered as a Sarawak common delicacy which they usually eat on special occasion...Often being colorful looking, I would also say it's a work of art for me. Price for a roll of this cake usually depend of design of the cake...According to my friend, usually they will need at least 8 hours to complete for a tray of same design...

Can you imagine how someone does all this by hand?yea, we are talking about hand made.

From the name Ole ole Bali, you can guess that this is a Balinese theme restarant...Compared to other, I think Balinese food were still not as popular here. Which also explain that this is my first having it... There were other branch at Sunway Pyramid and Puchong with the name Bumbu Bali where both were equally far for me. And in the end, have decided to go to the one at Mt Kiara...

Once reach here, you can already has a very balinese feel...mostly surrounded by wood carving, wood decoration, painting and also souveniers for sale. You may even thought you are in Bali right now.

Looking at this round table, give me a feeling like eating at home...

This Fish pasta were kinda like a fusion food to me...Spagetti top with grilled fish, chuncky tomato served balinese style. Again, it's taste sour and spicy...

Nasi Campur which you can choose to have either Beef or Chicken. Beside that, it were served together with Sate Lilit, Grilled squid, prawns and fish. All in one...

Nasi Ayam goreng looks more like a normal meal of Nasi Goreng with a half fried chicken...You'll definetely get full eating this...

Seafood platter...with a lil western influence in it because I saw french fries. Bout the watermelon, sorry I don't know why its there...

Chicken and Squid combo - another western meal in a Balinese style restaurant, sounds funny...

Looking at this tea pack I'm sure you can already guess what is this place. Chinese Tea actually play a major role when you eat Bak Kut Teh in Klang. Almost all the Bak Kut Teh in Klang does this way, they give you a basket you variety type of Chinese Tea to choose. While for the more fussy one, they will even bring their own which is usually of better quality.

The correct way which I'm suppose is they won't drink the first pot of the tea. It's sort of like filtering the first pot. And the later round is the one that they will usually start to consume.

The usual stuff - chinese cruller or yau char kwai as we normally known as

The not usual one - fried onion to eat together with rice. Not all of them have this.

Served on the fire stove, this way can mantain the bak kut teh to be warm while you eating eat. Don't worry it'll dry up as the soup will be automatically refilled all the time by the staff there. And you know what? I really like to see the greeny lettuce on it...

Here come the dried version. Cooked with dark soya sauce which taste kinda spicy, belive its because of the dried chili in it. Beside that they were also also dried cuttlefish which make it smells so good...

Compared to other Bak Kut Teh shop in Klang, Soon Seng are rather clean and comfortable as its more spacious. Instead of refilling our tea with the boiling kettle on gas stove, here they use water thermos will are safer when there are children around. I even hear from Kevin relatives that the pork they used are in term of better quality thus the Bak Kut Teh you eat are tastier.

While coming up from the escalator, we pass by a colorful advertisement of Little Ben which catch our attention...they are now running promo on their set meal, from RM15 onwards you can have a set of decently balance meal which include drink, salad and also soup... Great bargain isn't it?

After I take a glance of the menu, I have decided to skip their set for something else. And this is my Ice Honey Lemon (RM7.90) and 100plus were hubby one which were included in the set. Both our drink were served together with Lemongrass stick and lemon slice, even for the 100plus...

This salad were also included in the set meal. It's very sweet but trust me, there were no sugar added. I believe it's because of the fuji apple slices and dragonfruit in it which contribute to the level of sweetness...

My meal come first which is the Flavour Sauce Vegetable Rice RM10.90, suitable for vegetarian as well. The plain rice topped with sweet and crunchy vegetarian minced meat taste great...

And this is hubby Fried Chicken Bento RM15.90. Served with fragrant rice, fried chicken drumstick, boiled egg, assorted vege and clear soup is sure going to be a balance of everything inside. I quite like they way they display their food. Beside colorful enough, it's also nicely display. It's makes me fell happy when I'm eating it.

During my first visit which is half year ago, this place have actually score some plus point in my food diary. Thus I'm back again with curiosity.

This place were still as good as its were...see how good they maintain it.

The kids all time favourite Ribena Longan RM3.50. And Chinese tea RM1.50 (refillable) for us.

We missed the XO Loh Mee RM10 so much which we couldn't resist to order it again. It's taste exactly the same as we previously had it. It doesn't dissapoint us. With big prawn and abalone slice, eating Loh Mee suddenly become so luxurios, haha...

The Roast section only left with Char Siew and Roast Duck that night, so I have no choice but go for the Double-up BBQ Combo Rice RM8.80 instead of Triple-up. Absolutely no complain with the succulent caramalised char siew and thinly sliced duck meat. Sliced cucumber has also been replaced with fresh salad. Just that I don't like they serve it with plain rice...

Hubby's Char Siew Wanton Noodle RM8.80 served with the nicely arranged Char Siew and huge Prawn Meat Wanton...Talking bout satisfaction, this is it...

Great place where the food were still at a standard quality...Service were friendly and attentive too. Perhpas 3rd visit soon?

It's Chinese New Year again and as our Chinese saying "wan sek" which means we work to find money to feed ourselves. And that's the motto which I'm living to...What's else better than to treat ourselves a decent meal from the hard earned money...Well, we need to pamper ourselves once a while...

Yuzu, a Japanese restaurant located at 3rd floor at Gardens where the fish, meat and vegetables are flown weekly from Japan are just the right choice...

Elegant and classy interior and this is the place we are seated, near the window overlooking the view outside.

Stomach were growling as it was near lunch time and we did not have breakfast for that day... Katsu Don (RM22) was a life saviour for us... Rice topped with breaded chicken cutlet cooked with egg served with pickles and miso can be very fulfilling.

And the rest of the set meal that we ordered is mainly because we are greedy to try more...Set meal is always the choice for us...

King Prawn Roll and Sashimi Set (RM38). King Prawn Sushi Roll and fresh raw fish served with egg custard, 2 small appetizer, small wheat noodles, teapot soup, pickes, salad and fruits. It was good, what else can we ask for.

Yuzu Bento (RM38) for greedy Mandy. Special box that come with sushi, deepfried chicken, tempura, small soba, vinegered dish and appetizer, egg custard, pickles, salad, small braised dish, tea pot soup, pudding and fruits. A real bargain for so many dishes!

Gyu Karubi Toubanyaki and Seafood Set (RM42). Sliced Japanese beef in hotplate and stonegrill salmon, scallop and prawn served with egg custard, 2 small appetizer, teapot soup, pickles, salad, fruits and rice. For beef and seafood lover!

Dessert? Why not? Dessert menu please, thank you...

Yuzu Ice Cream (RM8) were actually Vanilla Ice cream with Yuzu citrus skin. Macha Tiramisu (RM8) were a winner as we love the green tea tiramisu cake, together with the green tea ice cream were a perfect combination.

Don't mind to come back again and hope next time I'll concentrate more on their ala-carte dishes instead.Yuzu says that they fly in fresh seafood on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays so if you are thinking to go, mark down these days to get the freshest!

Happy CNY at Cameron Highlands

Being a Malaysian which lives in a warm weather country, I feel that we are still lucky enough that we have Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands. When I'm younger I prefer to go Genting, but now I would more prefer Cameron for their cool weather and also more relaxing place which I can unwind myself...This year is also the first year that I'm not at my hometown for Chinese New Year but together with my family at Cameron Highlands...

Tea leaves plantation, you are allowed to go in and take picture with it but pls make sure no plucking...or else you need to pay for it...

With this kind of weather, anything that grown here is definitely gonna looks prettier...just look at the orchids farm...

Our stop at Multicrops Market has lead us with more fascinating discovery...

Very strange looking pumpkins... Am really amused with it, wonder how they grew this?

With the season of Chinese New Year, you can see that they have all the nicely decorated plants...

Next were Grilled Marinated Pork Loin, pork indeed will make you fuller but what if you skip the fatty skin...Luckily the mash potato can be quite filling...

I think I have falls in the average category. I have go for the Australian Rib Eye Steak. Meat and mashed portion were quite balance and I can reach my full level...

A unforgettable Bak Kut Teh Trip

I admit I'm a copycat because I have simply follow Kevin title for this time makan outing as I think there's no other title which suits this better, hahaha...Well, there's definitely some reasons to say its a unforgettable one but I rather just says the most obvious one. Ehem, which is eating 2 times of Bak Kut Teh at 2 different place in one morning in Klang. Which I guess this shall be one of my unforgettable experience...

1st stop:- Yeoh's Bak Kut Teh which has been around for some time. I remember I have been here few years ago...Just a few minutes drive from the tol and next to Hokkien Association Builing + this gigantic board on the road, I'm sure one can never easily miss it...

A cup of chinese tea to wake you up on sunday morning, erm, can I have a bigger cup pls? hehe...

Yau Char Kuai:- without you like missing something for bak kut teh...

Our pot of goodness have finally come and this is what we are here for...sacrifice of our sunday morning sleep...It's been a while I have not wake up that early to have breakfast...

We'll definitely need some vege to balance back the meat intake...

I believe none of us would think that within half hour later, we'll have another round of Bak Kut Teh, neither me...

2nd stop:- Teluk Pulai (Claypot) Bak Kut Teh. Lee were here to tapau for his girlfriend. But looking at the crowd here really making us to wonder how good is the Bak Kut Teh...

Without thinking much, we have seated down and ordering a pot to try try...

What else? Chinese tea again la...

This time we have order less since it's only for trying, a portion for 4. Well, it didn't dissapoint us as we found the Bak Kut Teh here alot better. The soup were more thicker and the portion were more generous...even the meat looks more meatier, which I mean you can see there's some fat on the meat.

We have requested to add on pork ribs and this is what we get...the meat were so tender that it just peeled of easily with the fork, yummy and obviously in the end it's just left the bone

After finishing the meal, saw one young guy selling mini egg tart... for me the egg tart looks very beautiful, its almost looks like those fake egg tart key chain selling at the nite market...how could I resist it? Again, it ever disappointed me...as its taste lighter and milker than those normal one... somemore you think everyone can sells egg tart untill got name card?

My friends are really good at eating good food. I think they are even better than me sometimes...Remember that I say The Steamboat was a great dining place but not a good one to chat after you finishing your meal? So Cathy suggested that we hop to La Casa which was just a few steps away...According to her, the cakes are super delicious

Here's is definitely better, at least we can chat as this place is quieter...I personally quite like it here.

Since we are still full, we can only have a cuppa of coffee and tea...

And also the not to be missed - their cakes...We ordered 4 different slices for sharing. And oh my god, all of them taste so perfect. The one that make these cakes must have put a lot of effort in it, the cake, the cream, the topping, the flavor - everything was just right...I instantly fall in love with them and now they are on my top list for good cakes...

And with that, I have brought back 3 slices back home for my loves one to try...I wish I can buy all the flavor back home, hehe greedy me...So, if you like cakes, then you must come here and try it out. Prices for each slices of cake vary depends on which one you choose and I'll will definitely back for more!

Looking at this place, it can be difficult to guess that it's a place for steamboat. For me it's looks more like a coffee lounge, isn't? Back to eating steamboat, normally I'll have it at the roadside stall...Lai Fun says we need to upgrade, and that's why we are here...haha, funny girl

Okie, so eating here were like eating in a cleaner environment, having cleaner eating utensil, and as lai fun says more high class as we are eating in air-conditioned place...Oh yea, we'll have our personal pot as well...Anyway I still prefer eating in a big pot with everyone sharing and digging in the same pot... Soup based to choose:- Clear soup, Tom Yum and also Laksa

I've not been a fan of Korean food. But being a person which likes to eat and trying for new thing, I have give Ko Hyang @ The Gardens a try. Another reason is also I have read some good review on this place. Maybe it's worth a try...Ko Hyang is just next to Justlife and also on the same floor as Din Tai Fung...

Our free banchan and seaweed soup...and I'll eating using this loongg stainless steel spoon like those in Korean movie...

My bibimbap which taste good as how it looks like...You can choose to have either chicken/beef. Eating your rice together with so many vegetable is definetly a healthier choice...Make sure your stir it well before eating

Dak Bokem which is a dish of chicken meat cooked in spicy sauce...Don't be fooled by the first few bites as after that, you'll starts to feel the spiciness numb in your mouth and stomach...Eating together with the bowl of rice will sure to lessen the spiciness...

Overall it's a pleasant dining experience of me eating Korean food at Ko Hyang...

Looking for a bowl of good Fish Head Noodle? Soon Soon Lye at Puchong may be the answer. Main attraction is of course the Salmon Fish Head Noodle which can be seen served on each table...Or perhaps, the gigantic wallpaper menu can make your ordering more easier?

A plate of 5 flower shapped Fried Wantan RM4.50

Fried Fu Chuk RM4.50 were crispy and you can taste that the fish paste is very fresh...

Does this bowl Fish Paste Noodle RM 7.50 enough to make you hungry?Again, the thick fish paste is so springy and fresh... The soup were sweet enough, its' must be the sweetness fish. And to our surprise, we can even find some yam cubes in it...

And this is what we are here for:- Fresh Salmon Sashimi RM10.90 for 5 pieces...And FYI it's only available on weekends. Pheww, we were lucky that we are there on Sunday. If not, we'll surely end up with disspointment...And because of Jojo, we have 3 plates of this...

And this is Fresh Salmon Noodle RM12.80 which come with a bowl of plain thick meehon and also 5 pcs of salmon...The salmon cooked instantly once it was put into the noodle....Anyway, I still prefer my salmon to be raw...

At first, I have thought that we just go for tea or coffee, or with a slice of cake perhaps...but she insist to go dinner?Later on, when we have settled down on Delicious only I know bout it...Yea, a good news which I'm happy for her

I don't know Delicious have that much of outlets:- one utama, bangsar and kl. The one that I know is that one at KL, which is at Marc Service Residence somewhere very near to KLCC. A very comforting place full of blues, whites and also bird cage hanging...you can have a relaxing time chatting with your friends which both of us do...

We reached there during dinner time and obviously it was packed. With no choice, we were seated near to the entrance which were kinda dim and dark. From the photos shown below, you might suspect that we are eating in a dark room, haha...

mine - frostee lychee, blended ice with real lychee inside. it's good as it's not overly sweet...

Antipasti platter for a starter - good for sharing. Erm, I can't remember all the name of the dishes here but as you can see mostly of it is sauteed vege - abalone mushroom, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, brinjals, roasted garlic, seafood - prawns & squid, and duck liver pate placed in the center which we eat together with crackers...all cooked in a unique different way

Winter Solstice a festival claim by my mom and grandma which is even bigger than Chinese New Year. Winter Solstice usually falls a few days before Christmas and this year it falls on the 22nd Dec...Thinking about it make me misses my hometown and mom's cooking...mom sure to cook alot of delicious food and also yummy tong yuen...

Back here in KL, I'm celebrating with my in laws...the simple way, as its a weekdays, everyone need to work...All these years, there is only red and white one, this year there's addition of orange color tong yuen...chinese do believe eating this tong yuen means you are one year older...

It's time to meet up with my ex-HP mate again, the ones that will get along easily...do what also can, go where also, and of course eat what also can. Just love you all! This time Jessey had suggested to go Munakata which seems to be serving authentic Japanese food, i guess we can get to have simpler, more traditional and less fancy japanese meal...who cares as long as the food is tasty, rite...

Munakata is actually located at Life Center, the same place as TGI Friday...which I will pass by everyday when I go to work. 2 months back, the price for buffet is still RM60, but this time it has increased to RM70

Continue with our makan journey the next day...we wake up quite early, i think about 8am as we are scared if there's no parking or table...and to our surprise, it almost empty and you can choose whenever you want to sit...those people only start to jamming in after we finish our meal, guess ipoh people don't used to have breakfast as early as us

Recently Cheras Leisure Mall has a minor lift up, it's not as massive like the other big shopping mall but at least there is a new "craving lane" which is occupied by Subway, Old Town, Bread Talk, Big Apple and also Sakae Sushi...which also mean that we have one more option for Japanese fast food beside Sushi King...

In conjunction with the opening of this new outlet, they are having this promo BUY 1 FREE 1 for Red plate only...the other way to say this is 2 Red plate for RM5.90. Promo are from 2 Dec - 16 Dec, so Cheras folks! there are 4 more days left...

I don't like their green tea, taste one kind...

What we ate~~

I personally think that in term of freshness and variety, Sakae Sushi is better compared to Sushi King. They even have kids menu...One day I would also like to try the children friendly outlet which is at Puchong whereby they are double conveyor belt so that the children are able to see what's sushi is there, and they can pickup whatever they like to eat...But one disappointment is, our order place tru the online menu is reall slowwww....it's more than 1 hour we are there, yet not all the food were send to us(hope they will improve on this)

Haizz, my 2 weeks leave just passes like that, so fast and I'm now back work. Am now missing the days which I spent in my hometown...Out of the 2 weeks, I just managed to grab the last 2 days to jalan jalan & makan makan at Ipoh...

Reached Ipoh about 8++ in the morning. And the first stop which I wanted to go is Kwong Hong. But too bad, this place only start their business during lunch hour. Thus, we just settle down with the coffee stall which is next few stalls to it...

funny isn't? we go to ipoh and eat har mee and char keoy teow...first time eating char keoy teow with chili sauce...and the dim sum here looks so tempting

stomach fuelled up...and the next place to go is to find a hotel, of course...unlike KL, there isn't much high class hotel there...Hotel Grand View, the place which we stay for the night...ding dong bell, christmas decoration at the hotel...

I just couldn't let go the chance to try the yong tau foo at Kwong Hong...so we went back to Gunung Rapat for lunch...I must say this place is really packed of people...The reason?See that? healthy vege yong tau foo? the brocolli florets looks so cute leh...they do have fried stuff, but i more prefer those vege yong tau foo...each pieces only RM0.60, cheap?

Lately have been reading blogs about this very kawaii bakery "Rui Patisserie". But 2 boxes, since I didn't buy the velvets, I end up buying the cheesecake instead... Each layer between the princess cake is filled with blueberry...soft, light and not too sweet. For those who likes cheesecake, must try their white chocolate cheesecake, absolutely delicious...while the 2 chocolate muffin, it's free for Jojo and Joey...

While we are there, the lady have give us alot of their biscuits and cakes to try which taste very nice as well...Am now wondering when I'm going back again for their other cakes and also the velvets...

And the reason why I really their cakes, it's light and not overly on the sweet side..I'm not really into sweet thing, thus I think its suits me...but this is definetely not suitable for those with sweet toothed...

It was just 10am in the morning, and this place is already full of people...I guess, mainly is because for as little as RM3.90, you can have a decent breakfast with a bowl of porridge/soya with You Tiao

First time trying Foong Lye which is a Taiwan Restaurant...This place were packed during dinner time, so next time you can make reservation in advance to avoid waiting...yea, were have waited for nearly half hour. But the food were served to us quite fast after we have placed for the order...

Chinese tea RM15 which is RM3 X 5 pax...It's even more expensive than the rice which RM2.50 per bowl

Okie, after search high and low at the menu, only I found that this outlet does not serve set like the one at Garden...Blek, so we just ordered a few dishes to go with rice...

Craving for a bowl beef noodle in the morning have lead us to Ngau Kee...I believe this beef noodle stall which has been operating for many years are no more stranger to the KL folks...yet shame to say, this is my first time tasting it...

Did you ever notice that the most delicious food is always those which is operating along the roadside...it just unexplainable

Price list:- S, M or L, just 50cent in comparison for each size...

We'll always never have enough of this springy beef ball and beef meat...just love the flavorful soup

On the other side, they are very generous on the minced meat which is served on top of the wantan mee...

Not in beef...there's still some other stalls which is operating as the same row as Ngau Kee...

Very delicious looking fried stuffed brinjal and chilies which luring me to eat them...they fried it on the spot, so you can still have the experience of eating a warm yong tau foo in the morning...

A simple plate of noodles sometimes can be very tasty as well...chili sauce + sweet sauce

Or how bout a bowl of porridge to clear your digest system...a plain looking bowl of porridge, actually there's more hidden beneath it...chinese cruellers, chicken slice, salted egg, century egg, peanut, dried oyster...

If you are a frequent user of Loke Yew road, then you must be very familiar with this tea house with is at Jalan Loke Yew...If you are from KL, then it's on the right hand side. And if you are from Cheras, you'll need to make a U-turn somewhere at Tsun Jin school...

Big advertisement board to promote tourism for Taiwan, i think?i'm still dreaming to go there...

So which the above statement, I'm sure all of you know that this place is all about Taiwanese food...

All bout tea, tea and tea...jasmine tea, red tea, and the bottom two I'm not very sure what drink is that...

Big piece of fried chicken taiwan style served with gravy rice and some vege...

Oolong tea braised chicken, this remind me of purple cane which uses tea leave in their dishes...very well marinated and since tea leave are used, i felt that the chicken is not that oily...with rice and vege too

Stewed pork rice...i have see from magazine, it should come with one braised egg and tofu...I guess I were late that day, and they have run out of tofu...so two egg for me...

For some more western style meal, can try this...one piece of fried fish and a few pieces of fish nugget, served with coleslaw and corn

End our meal with jelly...the vanila jelly were kinda ordinary but the tea jelly were highly recommended...strong smell of tea and the jelly have a qq texture...next time i think i can try to add some tea when making konyakku jelly...

It's tuesday today, finally I can say I'm almost done with my semi-annual review... reach home quite late today, and am really tired...so this will be a quick and short one...

Call me ulu or whatever...as this gonna be my first time having nasi lemak with ku lou yuk aka sweet and sour pork. Normally we'll eat it during dinner time together with other dishes...but for breakfast, hey this is the first time...For those who still don't know about this nasi lemak stall, it's actually in the Tiong Nam flat morning market...I guess this is the 2 aunties that operates the stall...

Oh my! this is what we are looking for today. A big pot of ku lou yok to to cater to demand of their customer. There another smaller pot which has not mixed with the caramelised sauce yet...

look at my plate of nasi lemak with the crispy ku lou yuk...yummy, and i'm already craving for it now...

ordered another plate of nasi lemak with curry chicken for sharing which taste good as well...

the nasi lemak were so so, but the crispy ku lou yok were superb...as it's thinly sliced and fried, add together with caramelised makes a weird but tasting combination...

interested, go anyday except mon and tue. you should get it from 6.00am onwards

I guess he's big boy now...remember that day he told me "Mommy, my concert costume for this looks like those people getting married one"Huh! And then he told me, he'll be dancing with the song from Beauty and the beast...

Back to office last Sunday to do some COB testing on the system. And since the testing start at 1.00pm, we plan to have lunch near KL area. At this moment, Chui Ling food guide suddenly become so useful, hahaha...At last, decided to try this shop which specialize in Foo Chow cuisine...

No idea how Foo Chow dishes are suppose to be, I just know bout the big big fish ball whereby there is some minced meat in the centre...

We start with our meal with this so called FooChow biscuit...fried flour which shapped like doraemon's dorayaki...inside there's some minced meat and vege, caution there's some chilies inside. No wonder Jo and Joey splitted it out...

And this is my red wine mee sua. I guess this is one of their specialities...Don't be backed of by their red color as it's actually not spicy at all...For those that like wine, can try this...

And this is clear soup noodle which come together with FooChow fish ball...simple

As usual, nothing much special happened for this year birthday...it just passes like that, I don't even have a birthday cake, someone says want to buy but I still didn't get it till today...Well, no birthday cake, but got this so called birthday present - makan guide book

Chui Ling - One day five meals. I'm pretty sure most ppl already know about this makan show on Astro. For those who have misses any episode or didn't jot down the address of the nice makan place, can get a copy of this book.

The POPULAR food guide - I prefer this more, as it's more colorful, more thicker than the one up there...furthermore, it's bilingual which suits people like me which do not know how to read chinese...

With these 2 useful guide, we don't have to worry when we run of idea on what to eat. Happy hunting for food...

Teow Chew Stew Duck

Hubby friend brought him here first, and he obviously find the stuff here very suitable for me. Why? I'm always into salty food. Once I have a Teow Chew friend, she told me the food for them is always salty, as I remember when I'm at her house for lunch, even a simple fried egg is full of saltiness...But I'm not Teow Chew. Well, I guess it's the gene inherited by my dad.

This simple yet humble stall is located at corner coffee shop at Restoran Tai Kee, Taman Yulek.One can find it's always packed during lunch time esp weekend with almost every table eating the food from this stall...

Chili sauce, thick black gravy and soup of the day which go well with your rice...

Our plate full of our must-eat list...Hubby's stewed slices of pork. Half fat, half thin which is just nice...Beneath it, was my favourite pork' intensine. Soft yet still crunchy...

Changed to another side, here's is my stewed duck...which is just simply delicious...

Another favourite's salted vege which goes well with the plain white rice...

Still not enough, you can order for the stewed egg and beancurd which is equally nice as well...

As usual, delicious food is always not the healthiest...If mom saw me eating this, she'll definetly says not to eat so much of this stuff...

Color color pan mee...

A glance thru this roadside stall, it's seems that it was just like a normal chinese kopitiam at the village area. But as the saying goes "don't ever judge a book by it's cover" has lead to some new discovery at LIN CHIN COFFEE SHOP

Bored of eating the plain white color pan mee? How about adding in some color to your pan mee? You all must be thinking this is all coloring added pan mee...Nonono, they are actually mixture of vegetable juices...Green is made from spinach, Purple is made from Sweet Potato, and I'm not very sure is the orange or the yellow one is made from Pumpkin, while the white color is the original one...

The homemade chili which give you the extra kick to your pan mee...

Spinach pan mee - dried version, which doesn't look that greeny anymore after mix with black soya sauce. Served together with Char Siew, Hakka fried pork and fried wantan. Find the mee abit hard though but the Hakka fried pork is simply delicious...

Pumpkin Pan Mee - curry version which comes together with loads of stuff: Char Siew, Fish cake, Dried tofu and long bean. The curry soup were light, sweet and not overly oily, so you won't feel bloated after eating so many flour...

Sweet potato pan mee - clear soup, we ordered this due to our greediness to try out on their variety of pan mee. Turned out to be this is the best. I guess the anchovies based stock is the main trick to the sweet soup. And the mee were so soft, hmm...you can just smell the sweet potato in the mee. Served with minced meat and greens, and fried anchovies separately, this deem to be a simple yet the best one...

Some side dishes to go with your pan mee - yong tau fo chili and brinjal which were hidden under the fried foo chook.

Beside pan mee, they served nasi lemak too which we ordered for the kids to eat with the fried wantan.

Unless you are a local here or else finding this were not easy and thanks to hubby which has a good direction which lead us here. Located at village of Seri Kembangan, this place is just somewhere near to their market. Or you'll know you are already there, when you see this signboard. As this signboard is standing right in front of their store.

Well, if you really plan to give this place a visit, make sure you give them a call as their rest day is not fixed. Taukesoh says she will rest whenever she is tired...

A Wet Thai Food Cafe

It's been kinda a long time I haven't meet up with my ex HP mates, the last time were at Tak Fook hunting for crabby...and with Jessey were at Pasta de Gohan. Well, for this time Thai food, most of them couldn't make it and we just end up with 4. But hey, we still need to eat, rite? So we still carry on with the makan with the most loyal eva member Jessey and Hon Nyan. Jenny joins as well this time.

A Wet Thai Food Cafe were located at busiest place ever at Taman Cheras aka Taman Yulek.Have passes few times seeing it packed with lots of patrons. Was thinking is should be quite nice. And finally I have a chance to try it out last Saturday, thanks to my makan geng...

It's a plain water but there was a very strong fragrance of pandan leaves smell...it's only RM0.50 and often refilled by the staff there...

Seafood tomyum. Jenny was shaking her head when she first sipped the soup. And Jessey were wondering is it not tasty...end up not, Jenny say its superb!!Haha...It's still not the best I had but it's already better than alot I have tasted. It's spicy, sourish but not too spicy which I like or else you can't taste anything else when it's too spicy. And in the soup, there's alot of fresh prawn, squid, oyster mushroom and tomatoes which I love to eat...

Green curry, another dish which has win our heart, recommended by the staff there. You can pick your meat to be either pork or chicken.

Thai BBQ Salt Baked Fish. Did you see that? They have deskinned the fish for you and you can just straight eat the meat...Its was such a good service. Even though, its BBQ but the fish meat were not overly burnt. It's was just right with the Thai sauce for dipping, I'm just falling in love with it...

For some greens, we have choose this Fried French Bean shoots which cooked together with some salted fish. Taste just nice as the french bean were so crunchy....

How can we don't have dessert, rite? ABC, Cendol and Water Chestnut were basically all shaved ice...just with different topping

For those who had yet to try but wanted to, I will say you won't be regretted trying this. Heard from the boss, they are opening one more outlet in Puchong but I'm not sure where it is...

p/s: to my makan geng that didn't come, you miss something nice lo...

A box of varities - similar to those we can get from the normal steamboat session. Just that it's in a box...

Vege, straw mushroom, cabbage, carrot, baby corn, tofu, varities of fishcake and fishball, prawn, chicken meat, egg, mee hoon...

The whole eating experience here make me think that steamboat has become a fast food as well, hahaha...anything is possible

Normally, my encounter with Indian food were just either at mamak the most or at banana leaf...And this shall the first time trying out Indian food at a posh place - KOHINOOR @ Capsquare, thanks Liew for the recommendation.

The place to go for fine dining Indian cuisine...

Not so familiar with Indian food, plus the menu with the direct Indian translation has made it even more difficult for us. Thus, we just let them to recommend us on the dishes...

We start with some pappadam lookalike, dipped with some cold sauce

A colorful array of our Indian dishes. But frankly I really don't know what's the name of all this dishes. But I what I can tell you is the red curry is cooked together with chicken meat. While the greeny stuff is cooked with some dice tofu. And lastly, the dhal color sort of dish is cooked with fish meat.

Still left with so much gravy, you can dipped it together with the Onion Naan which taste good...taste like a lil fried bread but less oily than roti canai...

Overall, the food is here were not really that spicy and its flavorful enough. I wonder it the spices are flown from India, as it's look and taste differently from those Indian food I used to have... A great place if you would like to try for Indian fine dining

The place which seems so familiar to all of us, yet you wouldn't believe this is my first time here...And that night, I also found out, I'm not the only one...Dinner here is specially for YL who is going back to Shangai soon. Thinking somewhere nice and near to our office, my colleague have decided Hard Rock Cafe. Being here for the first time, I would say this is a very lively western place. It was only Thursday yet it's so happening and crowded with people especially those ang moh...

Herb grilled Chicken breast . A boneless, marinated half-pound chicken breast, grilled and marinated with fresh herbs, garlic and pure olive oil. Served on top of White Cheddar smashed potatoes, with oven-roasted mushrooms and a light herb sauce - simply a healthier choice

Simple looking Cheese Burger with generous serving of fries...this looks more like a kid meal, haha

Lamb Sand-BBQ sandwhich with add on Onion Ring. The onion ring were so huge and crispy - taste good too...

BBQ 3 Way - suitable for BIG eaters or sharing. MZ and YL shared this...There is beef, lamb and chicken. Served with fries, coleslaw and beans...

And for this Seafood Thai Spaghetti, I think it's to cater for our local tastebud. Simply a delicious looking meal.

Had a very wonderful weekend last Saturday, all thanks to Joveen. She have brought me to a place which sells all the cuties stuff at whosale price. And I had really a good time there, searching hi and low and eventhough it was kinda tiring but it's really fun...

And when we have done with the shopping, our stomach start to growls automatically...Joveen recommend this place - Memori Corner Cafe which is at The Mall, somewhere near to our shopping place just now...

Memori Corner gives you a unique Kampung and Rainforest feel whereby the interior is filled with greeny plants, wooden chair and also some stuff which we saw in kampong days...old style bicycle, bird cage and old pictures which we seldom see nowadays...I guess we can start to classified those as antique stuff...

Let's move on to the food...Food offered here is some simply very Malaysian food we which we used to savor since yesteryear..range from the local favourite to Western style and even also Chinese style food...

Ice Kacang @ RM6.90, bring back my childhood memories, used to have this alot when I'm a kids... mom used to tapau from pasar malam

Green tea @ RM1.50 to wash down the sweetness of the Ice Kacang...

Light snack @ RM5.90, fish paste filled with otak-otak filling

Nasi goreng kampong @ RM7.90 with the fried egg and some keropok for you to munch...

Tomyum Meehoon @ RM7.90... this sour and spicy soup, simply boost up taste bud...And there alot of abalone mushroom in it which I loves a lot...

There's another branch at Setapak if you don't feel like coming down to The Mall which I seldom go as well...

And here's a peep of the things that I have sapu from the wholesaler there... Its's cheap CheaP CHEAP!! When you say pasar malam is already cheap, this is even more cheap...But of course, you need to buy in bulk and there's no single transaction for it...

When talk about Connaught, most of the people will straight away mentioned bout the famous wednesday night market. But I just discovered recently from a friend that there's one more thing Connaught is actually famous for - Dim Sum street. And one of the favourite place of mine for Dim Sum is this Restoran BB. If you doesn't like to wait for long and would like to opt for a cleaner, nicer and comfortable place for dim sum, I'll recommend this place for you.

I still remember eating here would cost us a bomb due to the environment and also because of the dim sum here is mostly made of whole prawn meat. And that was last time, really long time ago. I didn't even realise when they have start the have the RM2.88 each dim sum promo thing...which sound so unbelievable

Let start with something plain - a bowl of porridge whereby you can choose to have Century Egg porridge or the Peanut porridge

The usual steamed dim sum fairly consist of nice looking "Har Gau" with a very transparent skin. "Siew Mai" is also one of our favourite. And the "Tri color seaweed dim sum" is something new...I just loved those place which still served their dim sum in the bamboo steamer, that's the way it so be served - traditionally

Some fried stuff - both of the right hand side got a lot of juicy prawns inside. While the yam puff where equally nice as well, fluffy crispy skin which is not overly oily.

Mini egg tart to end the meal. And for all these you'll only need to pay RM32.80 inlcuding a pot of Chinese tea. This also mean we have ordered for 10 items whereby each of it cost the same price RM2.88

I'm sure those working around Masjik Jamek around won't miss out this place and I think it should be here for quite sometime. Because it was already there when I started to work at this area last year...To exact location is it was just right on the opposite road of the Famous Yong Tau Foo and also on the same row as Hong Ngek.

Cute name for a Cafe but let me tell you, this Cafe don't have anything to do with Car...not at all. We actually expect for something different. I mean there were some sort of fusion food, a nice place to hang out and also to treat YL...and I'm such a loser, this place actually served mainly 2 type of food, either Pan Mee/ Yee Mee or the Roasted Meat Rice...hahaha, so sorry YL for that...

Pan Mee which taste normal and not too bad...

Decent looking Char Siew with Roast Chicken...

Roast pork looks nice too...

I try the Roast Duck and I think this should be the breast meat...If you want to have the duck thigh, you need to pay more...

Food here were nothing really to shout about and our rice that day were a bit hard, but please bear in mind that this is office area... this is just another option for where to go for lunch in case you are bored with the few normal places that you go...

Pricing is still considered reasonable...From RM4.50 onwards for a main meal and RM0.50 onwards for drink...And of course, additional will be charged for extra rice/meat/mee

Went home today and saw something extra on the table...Someone eat McD and bought Coca Cola glass...He thought I like it, and men are forever like that, that will never understand woman...I do like to collect Coca-Cola but only Coca Cola can and nothing else.Still remember few years back that dad go and buy those Coca Cola key chain, magnet and clock for me...And of course, my mom is the best, she collect those Olympic Coca Cola can for me last year...Talking bout the difference between Men vs Woman...

Received Michelle SMS while I'm in my office on the 2nd day of Raya. Yupe, I'm working on Raya. It's been countless experience working on Public Holiday since I've joined this company...she asking me wanna watch movie with her, so there we go...right after work and straight to Tropicana City Mall to watch "Where got Ghost" @ 7pm show...funny movie with really good life value lesson...

After movie, we were REALLY hungry...and shops there were starting to close...thinking bout somewhere near, we went to Restoran City Star which we have not went for some time...

Lots of vege and gravy "Wat Tan Hor" or Cantonese Keoy Teow...perhaps we were super hungy that time, we think it's very delicious, hahaha...

Guess that you have see what's on the menu just now...And that's also what's this place is famous for...Crab Crab!! and this is the crab that we get. Cooked butter milk style...but gravy wasn't really enough...

Since we have ordered 2 fried bread, we have requested for more gravy...and there were kind enough to provide us with one more bowl of gravy... plus point...

If you like crab too, this place should be worth for a try.

Makan makan during Raya...

Well, it's a makan session during the long raya season which is not any malay's house but at grandma house...sometimes it's so good when you have a holiday which is jointly together with the weekends so you have a longer rest. I think because of that my aunts has organize this makan makan session for us...

One good thing bout my family members is all of them like food as I do esp good food...and most of them have been and some still in the food industry...so whenever I'm invited for all these makan makan, I'm surely won't get disappointed with it!

And this time theme is western food:green green broccoli, stir fried onions, potato salad with orange skin and buttered corn.

Meat: Chicken, Beef or Pork chop which is well marinated, it's tasty enough that you don't even need any gravy to go with it...or if you like, you can try to have the pork chop with some sweet and sour orange sauce?

No rice for that day...so the spaghetti have substitute the rice...

Ahhh!! such a satisfying meal... looks delicious to you too?

Shilin Taiwan Streets Snacks

Previously, it's the Hongkie style kopitiam which apparently make a big influence to our M'sia eating scene here...And now I think it's the Taiwan trend which is slowly starting to become more and more popular. And the most remarkably seen is this small little kiosk which is mushrooming at major shopping malls - Shilin Taiwan Streets Snacks. The food sold here is mainly some of the most popular snacks you can find from the alleys of Taiwan's night markets. So if you haven't getting any chances to go Taiwan yet, you can drop by here to taste some of it first...

Limited drink choice. Its either Mineral Water or Soya Bean drink which we choose to have...

One of the must try is this XXL Crispy Chicken.

Similiar to our pasar malam' version of Bob chicken, but I think this is a lot better. It was super huge and what you are seeing here is only 2/3 of our chicken, there one more bigger piece in the paper bag...you can choose to have some chili powder sprinkle on it if you prefer it spicier. No, for the sake of the two kid, we didn't...

While this is my favourite - Oyster Mee Sua. Mee Sua cooks in a big pot of thick sticky broth...served with some shreeded chicken, coriander leaves and also 2 succulent oyster. With a dash of black vinegar, its kinda eating the shark fin, hmmm, slurrpy...

The Crispy Floss Egg Crepe...Chicken floss wrapped in egg crepe. And some sweet sauce were poured on top it to make it not too dry...

Seafood tempura...taste more like keropok lekor from our pasar malam..Just that it's more chewy and lessen the fish smell...more like eating a very very chewy fishcake...

Overall, this is the place if you are looking some budget saving meal...And you can find it at almost most of the major shopping mall in KL. Some of the the place which I spoted it is at the Pavillion, The Gardens, Sunway Pyraming, One Utama, Tropica City Mall...

There is also one new item which Fries with Plum sauce which I didn't try and you know? it's halal...so one more place for our muslim friends...Hmm, more and more of my friend is going Taiwan soon which make me wanna go too...and it just come across my mind that day about hubby's taiwanese friend which is living in KL but used to go back Taiwan. His wife has offered us to go back together with them so that they will show us around the city...Hmm, perhaps I should plan my trip with them. It's always good to have someone familiar there...Taiwan! Wait for me, I'm coming...

Pasta de Gohan

Looking for a place for dinner during this fasting month is a real headache. First, we plan to go Ole ole Bali but it was fully seated. Frankly, I'm not really that familiar with Sunway Pyramid and both of us were kinda hungry that time, eventually we end up with Pasta de Gohan. Have heard quite alot of this place which is by Pasta de Waraku from Singapore. And the one in Sunway Pyramid here is currently the only branch in Malaysia. This restaurant is famous for its fusion style of Japanese and Italian cooking of Pasta's and Pizza's...

Choosing of what to eat was kinda easy as there is picture of each of the food and beverage on the menu..Still could not make up mind? Take a look around you, there's rows of plastic pasta for you to choose. If I'm not mistaken there is 72 types of pasta here...spaghetti or fettucini? there's a few of different type of sauces for you to choose as well, tomato, creamy or wafu? vegetarian pasta? there even have cold pasta here...seriously, you'll be spoilt with choices...

Both of us, always being the greedy one and wanted to try out more have choose for the RM36.80 set. I go for the Pasta and Pizza set while she go for the Pasta and Gratin set...Both of this set come together with one healthy salad and also creamy soup...nope, drinks were not included in the set...

Very very thick and creamy corn soup...

We can only choose for our Pasta from the selection list. While for the pizza and gratin, it's depends on what the chef gives us to eat...

This is my mini pizza which I don't really what it is, but it somehow looks like a ham/bacon with tomato pizza...very thin, light and crsipy...

From the looks, you'll aready can guess that this is a prawn gratin...4 very big succulent prawns on top of it. Creamy and chessy...

For the pasta, this is the Cod roe with wafu sauce...which is a simple looking pasta dish, top with seaweed flakes...

While this is Carbonara Waraku style, topped with generous serving of bacon and egg yolk...slurpyyy

Overall, the pasta serving were quite huge and fulfilling which leave us with no more space for the dessert...Quite and enjoyable place to have dinner together with bunch of friends...But for the price, it's a lil on the pricy side compare to Pasta Zanmai.
